Terms of Use

To use the Platform, you must:

• Be at least eighteen (18) years old;
• Have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements under applicable law; and
• Provide accurate, current, and complete account information.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your account credentials and for all activities conducted through your account.

Akede is a technology platform designed to:

• Connect members of local communities and neighbourhoods;
• Facilitate the sharing of local information and community updates; and
• Enable users to discover and engage local service providers.

Akede does not directly provide professional, technical, trade, or home services and is not a party to agreements between users and service providers.

You agree to use the Platform lawfully and responsibly. You must not:

• Post false, misleading, deceptive, or fraudulent information;
• Harass, threaten, intimidate, or abuse other users;
• Upload or distribute unlawful, harmful, defamatory, or offensive content;
• Impersonate another individual or entity;
• Infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or other legal rights of any person;
• Share another person's personal information without their lawful authority or consent; or
• Use the Platform in violation of applicable laws or regulations.

Akede reserves the right to remove content or restrict access to users who violate these Terms.

You retain ownership of any content you submit, post, or share through the Platform. By submitting content, you grant Akede a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, and sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, distribute, display, and make available such content solely for the purpose of operating, maintaining, securing, improving, and promoting the Platform.

You represent and warrant that:

• You own or have the necessary rights to the content you post;
• Your content does not violate any law or third-party rights; and
• Any personal data included in your content has been collected and shared lawfully.

Akede's trademarks, logos, software, technology, and branding remain the exclusive property of Akede.

Akede acts solely as an intermediary platform connecting users and service providers. Akede does not:

• Employ, supervise, or control service providers;
• Guarantee the quality, safety, legality, qualifications, or reliability of any service provider;
• Verify all licences, certifications, registrations, or regulatory compliance of service providers; or
• Guarantee the outcome of any engagement between users and service providers.

All engagements are undertaken solely at the user's discretion and risk.

Information shared on the Platform may be user-generated and may not always be accurate, complete, or up to date. While Akede aims to improve neighbourhood awareness and engagement, Akede does not:

• Guarantee the accuracy of reports relating to crimes, incidents, emergencies, or local events;
• Prevent crimes, accidents, or neighbourhood incidents; or
• Operate as an emergency response service.

In emergencies, users should immediately contact the Nigeria Police Force or other appropriate emergency services.

Akede may suspend, restrict, or terminate your account at any time if you:

• Violate these Terms;
• Engage in unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, or harmful conduct;
• Misuse the Platform; or
• Create risk or liability for Akede or other users.

Termination does not affect any rights or obligations accrued before termination.

The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Akede disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including warranties relating to availability, accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Akede does not guarantee uninterrupted, secure, or error-free operation of the Platform.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Akede, its officers, directors, employees, affiliates, and partners shall not be liable for:

• Indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages;
• Loss of profits, revenue, business opportunities, goodwill, or data;
• Personal injury, property damage, or losses arising from user interactions;
• Disputes between users and service providers; or
• Reliance on user-generated content or community information.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Akede and its officers, directors, employees, affiliates, and partners from any claims, liabilities, losses, damages, costs, and expenses arising from:

• Your use of the Platform;
• Your violation of these Terms;
• Your violation of applicable laws;
• Your infringement of third-party rights; or
• Any dispute between you and another user or service provider.

Akede shall not be liable for delays or failures resulting from events beyond its reasonable control, including:

• Natural disasters;
• Power outages;
• Internet or telecommunications failures;
• Government actions;
• Civil unrest; and
• Other force majeure events.
